macOS 12.3.1
macOS Monterey 12.3.1 comes two weeks after the launch of macOS Monterey 12.3, an update that brought Universal Control.
Note that Universal Control remains in beta.
According to Apple’s release notes, macOS Monterey 12.3.1 introduces a fix that could cause Bluetooth controllers like game controllers to disconnect from the Mac after playing audio through some Beats headphones. It also addresses a bug that could cause USB-C or Thunderbolt external displays to not turn on when connected to the 2018 Mac mini as a secondary display.
Additionally, this addresses two other issues. The first are those few MacBook Pro 2021 models which have been unable to update to 12.3; this update should enable them to update to 12.3.1 successfully. The other is a strange bug which caused flickering in half a dozen pixels on Thunderbolt or Cinema Displays when connected using a USB-C to TB adaptor, with an M1 Mac; that has now been fixed too.
I’m glad to hear that this apparently fixes the severe bug in AppleScript which caused
open [file]to fail. However, it doesn’t fix or alter in any way the memory leak seen in the Finder’s Find feature, nor does it display charge levels during recharging of Apple wireless input devices.There are two security fixes included in this update, detailed here.

After [more than] a week, Apple still has not released corresponding security updates to address the same vulnerabilities in the two previous macOS versions, Big Sur (aka macOS 11) and Catalina (aka macOS 10.15).
Both of these macOS versions are ostensibly still receiving patches for “significant vulnerabilities”—and actively exploited zero-day vulnerabilities certainly qualify as significant.

Odd but somehow unsurprising that they fixed the Braille panning bug introduced in Monterey and iOS 15 in iOS, but not macOS, which continues to die by a thousand cuts. And the newly introduced Universal Control has no keyboard interface for moving between devices. Apple is already aware, apparently, so we wait ...
And machines on the developer beta program don't get notified of the update, and checking for Software Updates says the machine is up to date (ditto for iPadOS…
@ Mayson: I'm guessing betas of macOS 12.4 and iOS/iPadOS 15.5 are just around the corner, so they didn't bother pushing these .1 releases to the beta channel.
It is, however, a reminder of how problematic especially Apple's single-boot devices are. If an iPad is on a beta OS right now, and therefore outdated, do you airgap it? Do you temporarily move it to the other channel? Etc.
The OS continues to kill non-foreground apps silently, frequently, and without warning.
