So apparently the keyboard in iOS 27 has dropped the tooth-shaped (typewriter-inspired?) letter popups when you type: https://unsung.aresluna.org/not-everything-needs-to-be-a-round-rect/

Now it's just another round rectangle popup... like Android!

I already dislike how bland they made the iOS 26 keyboard compared to iOS 18's. The darker colors of the Shift, 123, Delete, and Return keys got removed; every key now has the same color as a result and is less distinctive overall. The drop shadows underneath each key also go removed, so the whole keyboard looks flat, removing even more distinction. However, I couldn't imagine they'd make it MORE bland!

Also, where is the Liquid Glass-iness here? It looks so flat and bland that I mistook it for the latest Android keyboard at first!

Liquid Glass is definitely looking better with the ability to adjust the transparency independent of having to turn on Reduce Transparency, but that's not saying much. I still find it incredibly odd that it has reflections on the top AND bottom of icons and text fields and such. That's just not how reflections on glass look in the real world unless there are separate light sources above and below the glass, which is not common. At least they toned down the edge reflections on app icons so they don't have a weird stretched-out look anymore.
