It would be nice to learn more about how—and how well—the tracking-while-powered-off actually works, because the premise is fascinating.. (In typical fashion, Juli Clover speculates about some possibilities in an authoritative tone, but offers no substantiation.)
@Paul Yes, I think Mojave was the last version with the old widget. The app itself is fine, but it felt so much faster to just slide the widget out for a quick check, and then have it automatically disappear.
Will the previous owner of a second hand iphone be able to track it indefinitely?
I'm surprised you preferred the old Mac Notification Center widget (in Mojave and earlier, I think, right?). I found it to be soooo sluggish. The Catalina and later full-fledged Find My app is very speedy.
