Amazon Increases Free Shipping Minimum to $35

Amazon’s minimum order size for free shipping has changed to $35. This is the first time in more than a decade that Amazon has altered the minimum order for free shipping in the US.
I’m still holding out from getting Prime.

Really? It's a helluva deal. Even if you don't take advantage of the high-PQ and very decent-selection free video, or the Kindle lending library, and just concentrate on the physical fulfillment aspect, I find it to be an immense bargain.
Free two-day shipping. Very cheap one-day, or same-day shipping. Excellent and prompt customer service if your last-mile fulfillment contractor is falling down on the job. (For example, when my Brand X last-mile fulfillment contractor had two issues in a month, I requested UPS, and they immediately complied.)
Like I say, from where I sit, Prime is wildly underpriced. I'd pay $129 / year for Prime and still think it was a bargain. YMMV, of course.
@Chucky Prime is a great deal. I just don’t need the media extras, and I don’t mind the week or so that it takes the regular free shipments to arrive.
