I Don’t Get It

How is a right-handed person supposed to use the keyboard to switch tabs in Safari? Using multiple windows and Command-` seems so much easier.

Yeah that's quite the shortcut, especially for PowerBook users. However, with tabs I find the mouse or command-W work fine. Rarely do I have to go back and forth between two pages, and if I do, I don't mind using the mouse.

Left hand on Command-Shift, right on the arrows? Of course, that's basically where I leave my hands resting when I'm not typing.

Other option - click and rotate the PowerMate :)

I tend to leave my left hand on the left side of the keyboard, near all the common keyboard shortcuts. My right hand's on the mouse.

Zaphod Beeblebrox has a spare hand for a PowerMate, but I don't. :-)

Ah. I'm PowerBook-ing. Right thumb on the trackpad and the right pinky and ring fingers practically fall on the left and right arrow keys.

It's the year of the notebook -- didn't you get the memo :)

Good point--I hadn't thought of how it would be on a PowerBook.

It's only the year of the notebook because Apple's desktops are slow. :-)

Still, I'll be sticking with mine.

FWIW, it isn't any better in Camino. I don't have a suggestion for how to improve it. Do you?

Michael! How dare you expose the secret behind Apple's marketing campaign!
