tvOS 18

Apple (no release notes, security, developer):

Today, tvOS 18 introduces intelligent features like InSight, which displays timely information about actors, characters, and music from every live-action Apple TV+ movie and show onscreen in real time. Enhance Dialogue also gets smarter with tvOS 18, leveraging machine learning and computational audio to deliver greater vocal clarity. Subtitles now automatically appear at just the right moments, including when users mute, when they skip back while watching, or when the language in a show or movie does not match the device language. Additionally, tvOS 18 brings stunning new screen savers, like Portraits, to Apple TV 4K.

What I want from tvOS:

1) A dedicated My Content tab, only showing current and upcoming episodes of followed series and upcoming movies the user has flagged, as well as a collection of all previously loved content that the user may wish to rewatch. Devoid of all promoted content.

2) Option to permanently disable display of promoted content in various categories (sports, etc.)

3) Option to permanently disable playback of teasers when starting to watch a show.

When I upgraded to tvOS 18, the system did not see my Apple TV+ subscription. I could not get to any settings (that I saw) to change this. I reset the ATV box to original default new user settings and set it up again from the iPhone. Everything is now as it should be. Just an FYI in case anyone else has this issue.

@freediverx funny, that's exactly the list in the exact order of the things streaming company executives want to eliminate. Including Apple it seems, unfortunately. With Apple TV+ they've officially joined the user interface dark side. They even pop up display ads at me when I open the app to get me to sign up. I can't count the number of times I've seen Messi's face. Never once have I wanted to.

Every tvOS update reminds me: why do the update screens have a gray background rather than black? They always make an OLED screen look like a cheap LED with terrible blacks.

The "Home" button on remote now does not take you home anymore, it opens Apple TV App, even when I do not have a subscription. Thus Apple effectively removed home button from the remote.

@Dmitri I just checked, and the home button still opens the Home Screen here. Maybe your preference got reset for some reason? The default is indeed to show the TV app, but in Settings you can make it go to the Home Screen. (Or press Home a second time)

@Daniel thank you. I tried changing it, but it looks like it is a bug and the option to flip it back to Home did not work. However thanks to your comment I kept trying and after removing and re-adding remote and restarting AppleTV device it worked.
