ClarisWorks History

Bob Hearn, co-author of ClarisWorks (and the excellent AppleWorks GS), has written a brief history of the program. Although I preferred BeagleWorks to ClarisWorks 1.0, ClarisWorks 4 is one of my all-time favorite applications.

In its effort to produce slick, bug-free software, Claris was neglecting the hard reality that sheer number of features sells, independent of elegance of design. Some products, such as MacWrite Pro, were delayed so long by stringent quality assurance requirements that they lost their effectiveness in the market.

does anyone know where I can download a 4.0 version? I have need to load it on my PC

I have an old ClarisWorks version 1.0 on my steam driven computer that is uses only as a word processor. I would like to be able to use all of the floppy disck I have down there, and put copy some of them onto my clip board on my new P.C. I've looked for a conversion program on the web, but no luck. Do you have any idea where I could find a new or used version of ClarisWorks 1.0, or if possible a program that will convert these disks? Thanks muchly for your help in this puzzel.
