The Microsoft-baiting banners (e.g. “Introducing Longhorn,” “Redmond, start your photocopiers”) are silly. Microsoft isn’t shipping these features, but neither is Apple, until next year. So I guess it’s “Our vaporware is less vaporous than your vaporware.”
The photocopier line is especially silly, since Spotlight and Dashboard look like responses to Longhorn (or other software, depending on your perspective). Apple should grow up.
Brent and Erik respond to Safari RSS. I think it will help both of them.

I seem to recall that the original Mac, way back in 1984, had some things called "Desk Accessories." Steve Jobs ripped off Konfabulator twenty years before Konfabulator existed!
More seriously, come on. The first release of Mac OS X had stuff like the floating clock pointing directly to this. It was only a matter of time. Arlo needs to move on.
Well, I think it's more likely that Dashboard was inspired by stuff on Windows or Konfabulator than desk accessories. But you're right that there's a lot of prior art here, and as Omar Shahine said in one of the links: "Everyone copies everyone."
