I've been using MailMaven for the better part of this year now, and I quite like it. I intend to buy a license for it. But it still has some bugs and strange behaviors that I hope get addressed.

The one that kills me the most is that inline text search in emails doesn't work like any other macOS app. Rather than searching for the phrase you typed in, it searches for each individual word, unless you use quotation marks. There's no toggle for whole word or case sensitive searches. And Command+G and Command+E don't do their usual function of "Find again" or "Find selection".

I dont recall seeing a feature request for whole word and case sensitive searches but we do have a fair number of requests to make Maven more flexible for people's needs

Another request may be to default a search to a phrase

As for find again. It should be working when searching in an email. If not, please let us know in a support request. We expect to be busy over the next few days but we will look into it.

"I dont recall seeing a feature request for whole word and case sensitive searches"

I think the search function should default to the behavior people are used to. I'm in Zen right now. I hit Command-F. I type something. It defaults to matching the whole string case-insensitively, highlighting all matches, but selecting the first instance. Cmd-G moves the selection to the next result.

This is a random web browser that isn't even specifically built for Macs, but it still respects these rules.

In MailMaven, "Find" defaults to finding each entered word individually, highlights all of them, doesn't select one, and Cmd-G doesn't seem to be working. If I click the little right arrow next to "* matches", I can see a distinction between highlighting and selection, but it still doesn't quite work the way I expect. For example, it doesn't wrap around. If I reach the last matched word and hit the right arrow, the selection just disappears altogether.

TBH, this isn't the kind of thing I would open a bug report or feature request for. It's just a minor annoyance that I'll deal with. But I do wish that these kinds of small details received more attention.
