Show Network QR Code
Tap to open a Wi-Fi network inside the Passwords app, and you’ll see a button that reads, ‘Show Network QR Code.’
This QR code can then be scanned by anyone nearby to instantly connect them to your network.

Most readers will know that Apple already has a popular solution for sharing your Wi-Fi password with others: its pop-up prompt that sometimes feels like magic.
In practice, the magic solution almost never worked for me, so I’m very happy to see a still-easy solution that should be more reliable.

Who would want to share their WiFi with others. Thats a attack vector you don't want others having.
@OldCoot if you arrive at, say, a beach house for a week, only one person has to join the WiFi network and then can more easily share it with the other ten people.
I agree with Michael the "magical" Apple way is so inscrutable as to be fiddly, although I have done it. It does require both iPhones to have each others' info in the Address Book. A simple QR code will be more reliable among vague acquaintances.
The magic method seems to work reliably as long as you are in the contacts of the other person and you unlock your phone to wake it up. The other person has to be trying to connect to the Wi-Fi too, like literally in the enter the password box.
That said the QR code sharing is really good. I used it the other day to share with somebody totally non-techy and they were delighted with how easy it was.
Just came back from a long holiday with family, and we used the "magic Wi-Fi password sharing" feature extensively. It worked most of the time. It probably helped, that we have each other's contacts in the iOS address book.
I did not know, that newer iOS versions can also display a QR-Code. Could be useful in the future.
