@Catfish_Man @rentzsch Anything in particular that would cause the same problem with other POSIX API calls?
@Catfish_Man @rentzsch There was something about calling gettimeofday() that messed up the normal tail call optimization?
@rentzsch @Catfish_Man That doesn’t explain the +[NSData date]/gettimeofday() special case, though.
@tofias Is there a particular reason you didn’t want to use Core Graphics?
@simX We did lose the Apple menu…
RT @dropdmg: DropDMG 3.2.4 includes a variety of fixes and an improved French localization: http://t.co/G4T8LF3Gri
@wklj Yes, I had Onscreen Proofing enabled. I’ll try turning it off. Thanks!
Not sure if it’s Mavericks or Aperture, but I can no longer run Aperture for more than 10 minutes or so before it runs out of memory.
@otolithe @gruber Yeah, using a second Apple ID would work as well. But my guess is that most people would find that confusing.
@gruber is of course right about Apple ID and third-party e-mail clients. The “solution†for mail is to use a different host. Same for cal?
@siegel The URL crashes have mostly gone away, but I do get lots of the open/save panel crash reports. Never seen it on my Mac, though.
@siegel I used to get a lot of crash reports like that where the system URL cache was doing some sort of cleanup in the background.
@optshiftk I guess I’m used to using “:†for headers from TaskPaper, and it seems natural to use “=“ for assignment.
@optshiftk Secondly, I like that Soulver shows all the formulas simultaneously and makes it easier than in a spreadsheet to use names.
@optshiftk That’s actually how I feel about Calca. I think I should prefer it, but in practice Soulver seems easier.
Some diffing apps are better in certain circumstances, but I always seem to find tasks that only BBEdit’s Find Differences can handle.
@nriley Regardless, using a headset for non-call audio has made a huge difference in my life, so thanks for recommending that.
@nriley That works, but as I recall turning it back on doesn’t unpause.
@nriley I don’t see why the tap for calls couldn’t also be used for music. What’s the deal with multipoint; do you use it with your Mac too?
@nriley Can it play/pause non-call audio?
Not seeing how the sidebar in OmniOutliner 4 is an improvement over the drawer. Now the button to toggle it moves out from under the cursor.
@bwebster Turns out they found a bug where the index wasn’t getting updated when using the Performance Upgrade UI to bulk-edit cases.
@danielpunkass Yeah, and in this case the iMac whose backup failed hadn’t been used in a couple months, so it can’ t be due to a crash, etc.
There goes my mom’s Time Capsule streak; got the dialog saying it had corrupted itself and had to start a new backup.
@FogBugz Thanks. I have been filing the bugs with you all along.
@ClarkGoble I only use Chrome for Google Docs, since it doesn’t work properly with Safari. Bonus to updating: spreadsheets no longer slow.
@ClarkGoble Oh well. All I can say is that it worked for me. Maybe Agile support can help you.
@bwebster Chrome as well. And the new linkifier still breaks for URLs in angle brackets and hex strings in crash logs. Switching back.
@bwebster Looks like there are still issues. I turned on the Performance Update, and it’s now showing me lots of cases closed as spam.
@bwebster How are you finding the new FogBugz UI? Looks like it still doesn’t support Safari. http://t.co/hz1F7pk3kF
@1Password Good point. I hadn’t checked the version since I thought Chrome was supposed to silently auto-update itself.
@1Password Done. I had been getting the error in Chrome for months. Finally searched and found the workaround in your forum.
Getting sandbox errors when trying to install 1Password extension for Google Chrome, but direct download worked: https://t.co/sNCanFmN2s
@numist @gparker @kongtomorrow @rob_rix Think of “ln -s†as like “cp†where you are making a link instead of a copy.
@mhenders Did you try this default? http://t.co/YXSxPzLdt6
@secboffin This seems to be a general issue with document-based apps staring with 10.8.
OmniFocus for iPhone no longer supports TextExpander touch, but I was able to get most of what I want using Launch Center Pro trampolines.
@jils Yes, that happens more frequently in iOS 7 as well. :(
@flyosity Nope. Also, Aperture can undo an iOS filter, but it seems to only work on one photo at a time.
Anecdotally, people don’t seem to know about iOS camera filters. They accidentally pick one and leave it selected until someone tells them.
@stevenf That’s how Reminders is for me.
@mhenders Solution?
Would be nice if financial apps knew that if you’re typing 12/31 on January 2 you probably mean the prior year.
@drance Not enough power for the Apple SuperDrive, even with no other devices. Need an extension cable if you have a mouse transceiver.
@drance It works with 2 bus-powered drives plus the Apple dual-link DisplayPort adapter. I’ve not found a better hub.
@drance I have been using the Anker 9-port USB 3 hub. Works very well but cannot simultaneously bus-power every port. http://t.co/hfX2ZgKwtL
