My MacBook Pro bag now includes a Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse. Should make computing away from my desk much easier.
OK, sysdiagnose does work. The "few seconds" in the man page through me off. After a minute or two it gave me a tarball.
@danielpunkass Looks cool, but does the keyboard shortcut work for you? Didn't on either of my Macs.
@uliwitness Imports, ivar/property lists, prototypes, forward declarations, externs, enum values.
@uliwitness I should say that my particular need is addressed via ThisService; just thought it would fit in nicely with what you have.
@uliwitness I sort many times per day in non-coding contexts (lists and such), but there I'm in BBEdit, which has it built-in.
@pbur Yes, that was nice. But I was talking about the Sort Lines command for text.
@uliwitness Lists of #imports. (Was Automator/shell script services since Sort was removed from Xcode, but those seem to be busted on Lion.)
@uliwitness Cool. Have you considered adding a Sort Lines feature?
@optshiftk Yep, I've seen that, too. It auto-corrects less common correct words that I wanted to more common words.
@jamesthomson Reminds me of that time I thought none of my apps had crashed for weeks.
Customer: "We [App Store buyer] are the same users who have paid the same money as buyers on the site, and have the right to timely update."
@Schwieb It's been happening for me with Excel 2011 (14.1.3/110805).
@JeannieRichard Numbers does not do that. Excel does not do it for xlsx files (but everyone sends me xls).
Did you know that Microsoft Excel modifies every file when you open it, even if you don't save changes? http://t.co/vfQQTwxD
@retrophisch Can't you get Mexican Coke with cane sugar in Texas?
@danielpunkass Yep.
On the phone with Amazon re: the Kindle annotations. The story is getting stranger.
@matthewdrayton Just happened again this evening. I think that makes 5 consecutive drives where Siri was unable to take requests.
@siracusa And the other choice is iBooks, which maybe doesn't have this particular bug, but only offers annotation backup via screenshot.
@matthewdrayton Yeah, it seems to always be down when I'm in my car…
@jsnell That's really cool. Now I can put it on my main Mac and have it only load when needed.
It appears that VMware Fusion 4 does include kernel extensions, but they stay within the app package and don't load until you launch the app
Is it true, as I surmise from this review, that VMware Fusion no longer installs a kernel extension? http://t.co/v1CgHPyj
@danielpunkass Yep, no moving, renaming, or deleting files that it's already managing.
@danielpunkass Symlinks can help in some situations.
@danielpunkass Common request. Adds complexity for both the user and the code, although it's something I'd like to eventually support.
@jsnell Ah, one step ahead. It's quite a coincidence. I wonder whether there's a third RMS who's written a popular text editor…
@danielpunkass Any particular areas that are the source of the friction?
@jsnell And @mdeatherage, too.
@pilky Does no one on the team do unit testing?
Disappointed to see that code completion inside macros is still broken in Xcode 4.2.1.
@gte Too bad there's no way to do it with a mouse.
@Cabel @PatC @danielpunkass Hah! About as easy to unsee as FedEx, but thankfully less commonly noticed. Soon to be available in 1024x1024…
spamsieve SpamSieve 2.8.8 adds support for new versions of Mac OS X, Postbox, and Growl. Plus, improved filtering and more: http://t.co/D4OwwMrg
Thanks to @shauninman for some expert help getting rid of unwanted http://t.co/wEpfIhRZ referrers in my @haveamint.
dropdmg DropDMG 3.1 adds support for Growl 1.3, a Brazilian Portuguese localization, and some bug fixes. http://t.co/nH666AI5
Trying to sort lines in Xcode 4. Automator service doesn't work. Not sufficiently AppleScriptable. Ended up using ThisService.
Automator's workflowServiceRunner XPC seems to be busted. http://t.co/c0Tf8PNG
@danielpunkass I guess we'll find out. :)
@iacas Cool, thanks.
@iacas It has the mic and play/pause/next. Just not volume. If you find something inexpensive with everything, let me know.
@iacas Yeah. If you don't need volume, these are cheap: http://t.co/uqPank0s
@iacas Etymotic's "hf" series.
@danielpunkass Yeah. Since it took so long last time, I thought I'd get a jump on 2012.
Rejected from the iTunes/MAS LinkShare affiliate program, though I don't think I violated any of their conditions.
@danielpunkass This year I learned: don't start the dance before December or the IRS will take your money and tell you to try again in Dec.
@zorn Yeah, look at that copy/paste job. They should refactor it to use -retainCount and a while loop.
@zorn Anyway, thanks for an interesting post. Just goes to show that nothing is ever quite as simple as it seems.
@zorn Fixed, thanks. Never sure what to do in these situations. Don't want to silently change quote, but adding [sic] is kind of rude.
@marcoarment It's awkward, though, the way the page-turn works as you highlight.
@dnanian My stuff. Just FYI in case you were to try going that route. Unreliable growls, but at least my apps can run on 10.4.
@dnanian The weird thing is that I made some changes so that it would compile, but it seems to have trouble talking to Growl on 10.4.
@danielpunkass Yeah, although 10.0 was when they were trying to cram 10 different subsystems into the Dock…
@danielpunkass Consumer Reports has always had weird things to say about Macs.
@uliwitness Hmm, so what's the popover advantage? That you see where it came from?
@uliwitness I don't think I'd want it to put that content on top of the main view.
@danielpunkass Looks like it's fixed in PDFpen 5.6. (Could use some better release notes…)
@danielpunkass I reported a hanging bug in OCRing in PDFpen, but it isn't fixed yet. I think they were having trouble isolating it.
@petermaurer I thought Address Book was great before. 2 or 3 columns when you want. But if I'm seeing groups, I always want to see 3.
@retrophisch Yay!
@foresmac I actually like Lion's auto-correct. But it shouldn't mess with capitalized words…
@foresmac It's "Cabel", not "Cable".
Not sure what changed, but now Mail keeps showing my Outbox, even after relaunch, even though it's empty.
@ccgus Good to know; somehow I thought RegisterEventHotKey didn't work. Not sure what you can do about non-packaged SQLite files. :-(
@ccgus You were able to get Acorn's screenshot hotkey to work in the sandbox?
