I&rsquo;ve posted a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.c-command.com\/tools\/sqlite.shtml\">Mac OS X build<\/a> that may save people some time. When you download SQLite and build it on a stock Mac OS X system, the <tt>sqlite<\/tt> tool has a very primitive command-line editing facility. This build of <tt>sqlite<\/tt> uses the <a href=\"ftp:\/\/ftp.gnu.org\/gnu\/readline\/readline-4.3.tar.gz\">GNU <tt>readline<\/tt><\/a> library, which provides fancy command-line editing (using, e.g. Emacs key bindings) as well as a command history. Software built using the included <tt>libsqlite.a<\/tt> library does not link with <tt>readline<\/tt> and thus is not tainted by the GPL.\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SQLite 2.8.13 was released today.
