You can view it in the browser window, like in Safari, or in a separate window&mdash;and it&rsquo;s <em>searchable<\/em>. So OmniWeb has gone from the back of the pack to the front in this regard.\n<\/p>\n\n<p>\nAt last you can see the URL at the bottom of the window when you roll over a link.\n<\/p>\n\n<p>\nIt has the best implementation of tabs that I&rsquo;ve seen. I may actually use them. The modifier keys aren&rsquo;t as nice as in Safari, though.\n<\/p>\n\n<p>\nIt still supports the Shortcuts feature that I&rsquo;m so <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mjtsai.com\/blog\/2003\/10\/17\/iseek_10.html\">fond<\/a> of.\n<\/p>\n\n<p>\nDownloading is still weird. You can&rsquo;t download links by Option-clicking them, and the Downloads window won&rsquo;t automatically hide files after they&rsquo;ve been downloaded.\n<\/p>\n\n<p>\nCharacter spacing is still <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mjtsai.com\/blog\/images\/2004-02-02-omniweb.png\">horrible<\/a> when font smoothing is off&mdash;<em>unlike<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mjtsai.com\/blog\/images\/2004-02-02-safari.png\">Safari<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n\n<p>\nMore from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usercreations.com\/weblog\/2004\/02\/02.html#a457\">Robb Beal<\/a>\nand \n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.decaffeinated.org\/archives\/2004\/02\/03\/omniweb\">Christopher Clark<\/a>.\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OmniWeb 5 is looking much better.
