I eventually <a href=\"https:\/\/mastodon.social\/@mjtsai\/116718087320387356\">got it to work<\/a> by updating to macOS 26.5.1 first (instead of installing on top of 26.4) and by <a href=\"https:\/\/eclecticlight.co\/2021\/06\/03\/launching-recovery-on-an-m1-mac-booting-and-control-in-11-4\/\">booting into recovery<\/a> multiple times to use Startup Security Utility to toggle the <a href=\"https:\/\/eclecticlight.co\/2021\/05\/26\/big-sur-11-4-brings-localpolicy-and-recovery-access-to-m1-macs\/\">LocalPolicy<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/eclecticlight.co\/2021\/06\/02\/booting-an-m1-mac-external-disks-and-local-boot-policy-in-macos-11-4\/\">Full Security<\/a> to Reduced Security and back.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/documentation\/macos-release-notes\/macos-27-release-notes\">macOS Golden Gate 27 Beta Release Notes<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/documentation\/macos-release-notes\/macos-27-release-notes\">\n<p>The Recents list in the open and save panels can be accessed with the keyboard shortcut cmd-shift-f.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>Unified Logging System archives generated on 27.0 releases cannot be read on macOS 26.1 or earlier due to an updated archive format.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>Encrypted HFS+ (CoreStorage) is deprecated and will not be supported in a future version of macOS.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>Starting in 27.0 operating systems, select system processes now enforce stricter network security (TLS) requirements.
