When users select content to watch, they are still directed to the Netflix app for playback.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&rsquo;s confusing that it doesn&rsquo;t apply to the whole catalog.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sixcolors.com\/post\/2025\/02\/have-apple-and-netflix-finally-made-an-apple-tv-deal\/\">Dan Moren<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/sixcolors.com\/post\/2025\/02\/have-apple-and-netflix-finally-made-an-apple-tv-deal\/\">\n<p>Just yesterday on our <a href=\"https:\/\/sixcolors.com\/subscribe\/\">Six Colors podcast<\/a>, I suggested it was high time for Apple and Netflix to make a deal to get Netflix content in the Apple TV app. And it seems maybe, at long last, after years of no movement, <em>finally<\/em> such a deal is happening?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spyglass.org\/netflix-apple-tv\/\">M.G. Siegler<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/spyglass.org\/netflix-apple-tv\/\"><p>To me, this may be the &ldquo;finally&rdquo; to end all &ldquo;finallys&rdquo;[&#8230;]<\/p><p>[&#8230;]<\/p><p>It&rsquo;s now 2025, and I&rsquo;ve been writing about the problem I like to call: <a href=\"https:\/\/mgs.blog\/where-the-fuck-can-i-stream-this-81a2f11a049?ref=spyglass.org\">&ldquo;Where the Fuck Can I Stream This?&rdquo;<\/a> for years now. And it has arguably never been worse.<\/p><p>[&#8230;]<\/p><p>Assuming Netflix is playing ball with Apple here, there are other questions. For example, will they allow <em>Apple to recommend<\/em> Netflix content for you based on your viewing habits? Maybe if Apple also agrees to share that data with Netflix? But it&rsquo;s Apple, will they actually do that? Maybe if a user explicitly agrees? The pop-up users are reporting seeing only says that Netflix will share viewing content with Apple, not the other way around&#8230;<\/p><p>[&#8230;]<\/p><p>First <a href=\"https:\/\/spyglass.org\/apple-tv-android\/\">an Apple TV Android app<\/a> and now this &#x2013; what&rsquo;s next, <a href=\"https:\/\/spyglass.org\/apple-television-set\/\">an <em>actual<\/em> Apple television set<\/a>?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/02\/14\/netflix-no-apple-tv-integration\/\">Juli Clover<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/02\/14\/netflix-no-apple-tv-integration\/\">\n<p>As it turns out, Netflix content showing up in new places in the  Apple TV  interface was a bug, and Netflix is not introducing expanded  Apple TV  functionality. Apple TV users were overjoyed yesterday when the Netflix app briefly started integrating with the TV app for &ldquo;what next&rdquo;, etc. Steven Aquino described it as &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.curbcuts.co\/blog\/apple-and-netflix-must-do-right-and-finally-make-tv-app-peace-for-accessibilitys-sake\">jubilance<\/a>&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/joe-steel.com\/2025-02-14-Netflix-Says-Its-Brief-Apple-TV-App-Integration-Was-a-Mistake.html\">Joe Rosensteel<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/joe-steel.com\/2025-02-14-Netflix-Says-Its-Brief-Apple-TV-App-Integration-Was-a-Mistake.html\">\n<p>Netflix deeply regrets accidentally making Netflix a better product for its customers.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>They may very well turn it on later, like, let&rsquo;s say if Apple is actually shipped a tvOS update that completely displaces the old home screen, and reduces visibility of their app at all. However such a move is just as likely to hurt the commercial appeal of the Apple TV for customers that find Netflix&rsquo;s mediocrity essential.
