Some iPhone owners are reporting that, after updating their phones to iOS 17.5, their deleted photos &mdash; some quite old &mdash; are popping up again, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/ios\/comments\/1cryayx\/latest_ios_update_has_brought_back_some_pictures\/\">Reddit thread<\/a> that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2024\/05\/15\/ios-17-5-bug-deleted-photos-reappear\/\"><em>MacRumors<\/em> spotted<\/a>. iOS beta testers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/iOSBeta\/comments\/1cnjesa\/ios_175_db4_two_year_old_photo_i_deleted_long_ago\/\">had the same complaints<\/a> about the bug last week.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>The person who started the thread claimed that NSFW photos they had deleted &ldquo;years ago&rdquo; were back on their phone.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>There&rsquo;s a chance it&rsquo;s not specific to photos, either, as one person <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ssmithdev\/status\/1790733473155534885\">posted on X<\/a> that they saw old voicemails come back after the update. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/iOSBeta\/comments\/15stc9n\/ios_17_db_6_deleted_voicemails_from_blocked\/\">Several beta testers said the same thing<\/a> about earlier iOS 17 betas. One said: &ldquo;I had a random photo from a concert taken on my Canon camera reappear in my phone library, and it showed up as if it was added today.&rdquo;<\/p><p>It&rsquo;s not clear what&rsquo;s happening, but given that some of the photos were apparently taken years ago, this cannot be an issue with recently deleted photos being undeleted.
