Some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/WearOS\/comments\/18js0zt\/there_will_be_no_new_fossil_gen7\/\">Reddit<\/a> users had been reporting Fossil retail employees as saying Fossil was pulling out of the business, while others on the platform claiming &ldquo;insider&rdquo; knowledge said the company was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/WearOS\/comments\/18js0zt\/comment\/kdnjd1w\/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web2x&amp;context=3\">waiting for a new chipset<\/a>. The company regularly put out smartwatches through Wear OS&rsquo;s toughest years and was often a permanent fixture at CES. However, the company was notably absent from the show earlier this month. What&rsquo;s more, Fossil was expected to announce news of a new Gen 7 featuring the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/7\/19\/23268272\/qualcomm-snapdragon-w5-wearables-processor\">Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Plus<\/a> platform in 2023 &mdash; however, it was nothing but crickets the entire year.
