It also improves the workaround for the <a href=\"https:\/\/c-command.com\/spamsieve\/help\/why-are-apple-mail-inbo\">macOS bug<\/a> where sometimes Mail extensions don&rsquo;t work at all. So everything that the Mail extension does now has a fallback implementation using AppleScript.<\/p>\n<p>Other interesting bugs were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><p>Core Data uniqueness constraint resolution can fail and trigger a crash (<code>_thereIsNoSadnessLikeTheDeathOfOptimism<\/code>) if the string starts with a zero-width non-breaking space, because this also happens to be the Unicode BOM, which has <a href=\"https:\/\/sqlite.org\/forum\/forumpost\/f488a388ad\">special handling in SQLite<\/a>.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p><code>StringProtocol<\/code> switched from ICU to Swift Regex in Sonoma, and matching <code>\\w<\/code> against emoji can make it go into an infinite loop (FB13249322). I now call that API from <code>NSString<\/code> instead.<\/p><\/li>\n<li><p><code>NSScanner<\/code> somehow triggers a <a href=\"https:\/\/forums.swift.org\/t\/object-was-retained-too-many-times\/40855\">Swift retain count overflow<\/a>, also worked around by using an unbridged <code>NSString<\/code>.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>I&rsquo;ve also moved the SpamSieve mailing lists to <a href=\"https:\/\/sendy.co\">Sendy<\/a>, and it&rsquo;s been working well.<\/p>\n\n<p>Previously:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/24\/spamsieve-3-0\/\">SpamSieve 3.0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SpamSieve 3.0.1 fixes almost all of the known issues with version 3.0.
