Why didn&rsquo;t they use the <em>opening<\/em> bracket for both <em>opening<\/em> quotes and the <em>closing<\/em> bracket for both <em>closing<\/em> quotes? Then add Shift for the double quote, since it&rsquo;s &ldquo;bigger.&rdquo; That seems easier to remember than <tt>[<\/tt> meaning <tt>\"<\/tt>, <tt>]<\/tt> meaning <tt>'<\/tt>, and Shift meaning close-quote.
