The truck has wireless CarPlay, and I noticed something right away: CarPlay&rsquo;s UI doesn&rsquo;t stretch very gracefully for these larger displays.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>The phone app is <em>okay<\/em> but the full-width cells in that table view are a bit odd. I also have no idea why the dialer looks the way it does.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>Full-screen media playback is perhaps the worst of the screens, with both Overcast and Apple Music showing how much work Apple needs to do here[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>My car has a 9-inch screen, and it&rsquo;s frustrating how CarPlay doesn&rsquo;t seem to use the space very well:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><p>The &ldquo;Dock&rdquo; at the left sometimes stops showing the battery indicator, even though there&rsquo;s plenty of empty space for it.<\/p><\/li>\n<li>The split home screen can show Google Maps in the main view with Overcast or Now Playing at the right. But the audio area just shows controls that duplicate hardware buttons that I already have on the steering wheel. There&rsquo;s no room left for any text.
