I don&rsquo;t know why, more than 30 years later, Apple decided to add a permission prompt to links in Preview[&#8230;]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This follows macOS Sierra adding similar prompts for bookmarklets in Safari. Also, since 2014 or so, custom URL schemes haven&rsquo;t been clickable in Preview or Help Viewer. They don&rsquo;t even give you a confirmation alert, just a beep.
