As explained previously, you need only reinstall the OS and point at the backup when prompted to restore during first boot.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>I want to highlight this because I missed it the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shirt-pocket.com\/blog\/index.php\/comments\/its_a_trip_to_the_moon_not_a_marathon\/\">first time<\/a>. Starting <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dnanian\/status\/1582132946571776000\">with Big Sur<\/a>, clones&mdash;even lacking the system volume&mdash;can be restored by the macOS installer. Previously, this was only possible for Time Machine backups.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.shirt-pocket.com\/blog\/index.php\/shadedgrey\/comments\/silly_season\/\"><p>In the meantime, we&rsquo;ve been improving SuperDuper.
