{"id":34751,"date":"2022-01-19T15:43:50","date_gmt":"2022-01-19T20:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/?p=34751"},"modified":"2022-01-19T16:12:22","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T21:12:22","slug":"no-more-ios-14-security-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/2022\/01\/19\/no-more-ios-14-security-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"No More iOS 14 Security Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2022\/01\/19\/ios-14-option-temporary-apple\/\">Juli Clover<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2022\/01\/19\/ios-14-option-temporary-apple\/\">\n<p>Last week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2022\/01\/13\/apple-pushing-ios-14-users-upgrade-ios-15\/\"><em>MacRumors<\/em> shared news<\/a> that Apple had stopped releasing iOS 14 security updates and was pushing those still on iOS 14 to upgrade to iOS 15, an apparent reversal of a promise to allow users to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2021\/06\/07\/apple-wont-make-you-upgrade-to-ios-15\/\">stay on the iOS 14 operating system<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Apple today told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/gadgets\/2022\/01\/apple-ends-security-updates-for-ios-14-pushes-users-to-install-ios-15-instead\/\">Ars Technica<\/a><\/em> that the option to stay on iOS 14 and avoid the  iOS 15  upgrade was always meant to be temporary.
