I prefer to run a clean system, and it turns out that you can prevent your Finder from being patched by running these two commands in Terminal:<\/p>\r\n<pre>sudo rm -rf \/Library\/DropboxHelperTools\r\nrm \/Applications\/Dropbox.app\/Contents\/Resources\/DropboxHelperInstaller.tgz\r\n<\/pre>\r\n<p>I first heard about this last year, and indeed it does not seem to interfere with any non-cosmetic functionality. It was also recently <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.dropbox.com\/topic.php?page=2&amp;id=33706#post-294879\">recommended in the forum<\/a> (via <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/gruber\/status\/50259275855052802\">John Gruber<\/a>).
