{"id":31514,"date":"2021-02-02T16:54:25","date_gmt":"2021-02-02T21:54:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/?p=31514"},"modified":"2022-11-10T12:22:21","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T17:22:21","slug":"macos-11-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/2021\/02\/02\/macos-11-2\/","title":{"rendered":"macOS 11.2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2021\/02\/01\/apple-releases-macos-big-sur-11-2\/\">Juli Clover<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2021\/02\/01\/apple-releases-macos-big-sur-11-2\/\"><p>According to Apple&rsquo;s release notes,  macOS Big Sur  11.2 addresses several bugs, such as an issue that could cause external external displays to show a black screen when connected to an  M1   Mac mini  using an HDMI to DVI converter and a problem that caused iCloud Drive to disable when turning off the  iCloud Drive  Desktop &amp; Documents Folders option.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/documentation\/macos-release-notes\/macos-big-sur-11_2-release-notes\">Apple<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/documentation\/macos-release-notes\/macos-big-sur-11_2-release-notes\"><p>There are no new release notes for this software update.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>I&rsquo;ve seen first-hand that the Mail bug where messages &ldquo;moved&rdquo; by rules bounce back to the inbox has not been fixed. I&rsquo;ve not yet heard the status of these other serious Mail bugs that were present on macOS 10.15.0 through 11.1:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>When an automatically applied rule moves a message (usually from Gmail) to a mailbox in another account, a copy is left in the inbox.<\/li>\n<li>Moving a message from one server mailbox to another instead deletes it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In the absence of release notes or responses to bug reports, I&rsquo;m assuming that they are not fixed.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eclecticlight.co\/2021\/02\/01\/apple-has-released-big-sur-update-to-version-11-2\/\">Howard<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/eclecticlight.co\/2021\/02\/01\/whats-changed-in-big-sur-11-2\/\">Oakley<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/eclecticlight.co\/2021\/02\/01\/apple-has-released-big-sur-update-to-version-11-2\/\"><p>Details of security fixes included in this and the concomitant Security Updates <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT212147\">are here<\/a>. They include a fix to a bug in APFS in Big Sur found by Thomas Tempelmann, 2-3 bugs in Crash Reporter, nine bugs in ImageIO and still more in Model I\/O, and three in the Big Sur kernel.
