A <a href=\"https:\/\/forums.macrumors.com\/threads\/during-install-stuck-on-black-screen.2267620\/\"><em>MacRumors<\/em> forum thread<\/a> contains a significant number of users reporting the issue, and similar problems are being reported across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/MacOS\/comments\/jue7n5\/big_sur_update_bricked_mid2014_13_mbp\/\">Reddit<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/discussions.apple.com\/thread\/252034110\">Apple Support Communities<\/a>, suggesting the problem is widespread.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chriseidhof\/status\/1328347367020634112\">Chris Eidhof<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chriseidhof\/status\/1328347367020634112\"><p>I tried a number of the things that were advised below, but so far, none worked.
