The closest thing I can find in <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/app-store\/review\/guidelines\/#accurate-metadata\">Apple&rsquo;s guidelines<\/a> would seem to indicate that you <em>should<\/em> mention the new OS:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/app-store\/review\/guidelines\/#accurate-metadata\"><p>2.3.12 Apps must clearly describe new features and product changes in their &ldquo;What&rsquo;s New&rdquo; text.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>rather than <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lucvandal\/status\/1042060371350179840\">imply<\/a> it.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/radiantav\/status\/1042027087601836032\">Aleksandar Vaci&#x107;<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/radiantav\/status\/1042027087601836032\">\n<p>While Apple&rsquo;s own apps happily mention Mojave in iWork updates I installed today.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jmfd\/status\/1042104217647767552\">Jonathan Deutsch<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jmfd\/status\/1042104217647767552\">\n<p>I feel they always try to pull this... most of the time they relent if challenged. It is user-hostile to reject for this reason and wastes our time as one of the top questions we get near a new OS release date is &ldquo;does it run on macOS 10.x?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p id=\"rejected-for-mentioning-a-pre-release-macos-version-update-2018-09-24\">Update (2018-09-24): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eod.com\/blog\/2018\/09\/rejected\/\">Greg Knauss<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/www.eod.com\/blog\/2018\/09\/rejected\/\">\n<p>Apple apparently considers referencing the devices that an application is designed to run on not relevant to its functionality.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>Given Apple&rsquo;s ad budget, the entire observable universe is aware what the new-model iPhones are called, and there&rsquo;s simply no reason not to accurately reflect that in release notes. Not doing so makes the notes worse, and at the end of that particular road is a sign that just says, &ldquo;Bugs fixed.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/macguru17\/status\/1043022541000863745\">Max Seelemann<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/macguru17\/status\/1043022541000863745\">\n<p>Funny.
