It&rsquo;s almost like a built-in ad blocker, though it&rsquo;s really closer to browser add-ons like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghostery.com\">Ghostery<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eff.org\/privacybadger\">Privacy Badger<\/a> because ads that don&rsquo;t track you are allowed through. The feature&rsquo;s blocking list, which is based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/disconnect.me\/trackerprotection\">tracking protection<\/a> rules laid out by the <a href=\"https:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2013\/06\/17\/anti-tracking-app-disconnect\/\">anti-tracking<\/a> startup <a href=\"https:\/\/disconnect.me\/\">Disconnect<\/a>, is published under the General Public License and available on <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/disconnectme\/disconnect-tracking-protection\">GitHub<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>The difference is that with Firefox for iOS, it&rsquo;s on by default. And you can turn it off and on for each site (long-press the URL bar and tap the shield icon)[&#8230;] The feature is great for privacy, but it also improves performance.
