To make better use of the available space in the location field, Safari no longer shows the “http:\/\/” or “https:\/\/” protocol scheme. I agree that, at least if you know what the magnifying glass means, the new search field is a waste of space. What I don’t understand is why the reload button is now inside<\/em> the location field. The × button inside a search field makes sense because you’re clearing the field<\/em>, but the reload button applies to the page<\/em>.<\/p>\n
