I have fallen off the wagon with habit tracking so I looked at a lot of the popular habit tracking apps before settling on <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/productive-habits-daily-goals\/id983826477?mt=8at=10laz7&amp;ct=blog\">Productive<\/a> as my favorite. It has a bit of whimsey in its design and is customizable in just about every way you can think of for a habit-tracking app.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.practicallyefficient.com\/2017\/01\/02\/to-dont-streaks.html\">Eddie Smith<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/www.practicallyefficient.com\/2017\/01\/02\/to-dont-streaks.html\"><p>My favorite app for habit-forming is <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/streaks\/id963034692?mt=8\">Streaks<\/a>, which is designed to encourage you to complete tasks over consecutive days, X times per week, etc. It can even read health data from your iPhone and automatically check off health-related tasks.Being January, a lot of people have habit-forming on the brain. My favorite app for habit-forming is <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/streaks\/id963034692?mt=8\">Streaks<\/a>, which is designed to encourage you to complete tasks over consecutive days, X times per week, etc.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>But in 2016, I started taking a more inverted approach and embraced the &ldquo;to-don&rsquo;t.&rdquo; I&rsquo;m willing to bet for most people in modern times, you&rsquo;ll find more low hanging fruit in to-don&rsquo;t lists, which are simply lists of things you do not want to do.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.practicallyefficient.com\/2016\/12\/28\/2016-betterment-part-2.html\">Eddie Smith<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/www.practicallyefficient.com\/2016\/12\/28\/2016-betterment-part-2.html\">\n<p>I&rsquo;ve begun to understand that I&rsquo;m essentially a collection of &ldquo;selves&rdquo; that change subtly throughout the day, and I&rsquo;ve learned to manage these &ldquo;selves&rdquo; as different workers&mdash;or like a great football coach who knows how to get each player to play to his full potential.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>David Sparks: If you&rsquo;ve been thinking about changing some habits as we head into 2017, why not game the system with an app?
