Together with the Python\r\ndeveloper and user community I came up with a Plan.  We created a new\r\nseries of <a class=\"reference\" href=\"http:\/\/python.org\/dev\/peps\/\">PEPs<\/a> (Python Enhancement Proposals) whose numbers started\r\nwith 3000.  There was a PEP 3000 already, maintained by others in the\r\ncommunity, which was mostly a laundry list of ideas that had been\r\nbrought up as suitable for implementation in Python 3000.
