Facebook made it clear that this would happen &mdash; and in fact it happened months back, seemingly without much pushback. What Facebook was less clear about was what would happen to photos that had previously been synced.<\/p><p>At the time, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2015\/12\/14\/10115516\/facebook-moments-required-mobile-photo-uploads\">Facebook mentioned<\/a> that people would be given the chance to download their pictures in a zip file if they didn&rsquo;t want to move over to Moments. Now it&rsquo;s clear that offering is because Facebook intends to completely delete synced photos if people don&rsquo;t download this new app.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/betanews.com\/2016\/06\/11\/facebook-moments-delete-photos\/\">Mark Wilson<\/a> (via <a href=\"https:\/\/tech.slashdot.org\/story\/16\/06\/11\/1435204\/facebook-threatens-to-delete-users-photos-if-they-dont-install-moments-app\">Slashdot<\/a>):<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/betanews.com\/2016\/06\/11\/facebook-moments-delete-photos\/\"><p>This has understandably led to panic installations of Moments as people sought to protect the photos that have been automatically synchronized from their phone.
