But there were several problems with that approach. Importing photos becomes confusing because Image Capture <a href=\"https:\/\/discussions.apple.com\/thread\/6641665\">loses the ability<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/discussions.apple.com\/thread\/7027604\">delete photos<\/a>. There is a way to delete them from the phone, but freeing up space is a multi-step process. You can&rsquo;t Select All and Delete in the Camera Roll, and even then the photos first move into Recently Deleted.<\/p>\r\n<p>Another issue is that, although I like having recent photos in the cloud, there&rsquo;s <a href=\"http:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/2015\/04\/26\/icloud-photo-library-the-missing-faq\/\">no way<\/a> to prevent uploading them when I don&rsquo;t have a good Internet connection.
