It still uses modal dialogs and fudges the\r\ndisplay of the keyboard shortcut for Play.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\nThe first thing I tried to do was search my library for podcasts that\r\nmatched a word, and it didn&rsquo;t find any even though I have many matching\r\ntracks with that Genre.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\nThe second thing I tried was the new Show Duplicate Songs feature. But\r\nthis doesn&rsquo;t compare the file <em>contents<\/em> like iPhoto does; it\r\njust compares the <em>metadata<\/em>, finding tracks with the same name\r\nand artist (case insensitive) even if the content and duration differ.\r\nWhat&rsquo;s the point of that? First of all, there are some songs that I\r\nhave many different versions of&mdash;on purpose. Second, it&rsquo;s worse than\r\nuseless for some classical albums: Albinoni&rsquo;s &ldquo;The Complete Concertos,\r\nOpus 9&rdquo; has six tracks called &ldquo;Adagio&rdquo; and six more called &ldquo;Allegro.&rdquo; I\r\ndon&rsquo;t think Yo-Yo Ma, who was in Apple&rsquo;s audience yesterday, thinks\r\nthat he played the same track 16 times in a row on his <a\r\nhref=\"http:\/\/sonyclassical.com\/music\/64114\/\">1999 solo album<\/a>.\r\nCDDB is weak for classical CDs, but still. \r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/images\/2005-09-08-itunes-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"295\" \/>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\nHere&rsquo;s what other people are saying:\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/2lmc.org\/spool\/id\/5063\">2lmc spool<\/a>:\r\n<\/p>\r\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/2lmc.org\/spool\/id\/5063\">\r\n<p>\r\nHow much have they broken their HIG this time? The widget layout was the same between the large iTunes\r\nwindow, and the smaller utility version. Now it&rsquo;s inconsistent and\r\nwidgets rearrange themselves depending on the window type.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\nThe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/ipodnano\/\">iPod nano<\/a> looks to me\r\nlike a home run. Take that for what you will, since I thought the\r\noriginal iPod would flop; and though, it was much better than the\r\ncompetition, I found the 3G frustratingly inelegant. But, if you like\r\nthe other iPods or the iPod mini (and tens of millions presumably do),\r\nit seems to me that you&rsquo;ll like the Nano even better. Personally,\r\nI&rsquo;m happy with my Shuffle.
