{"id":10763,"date":"2015-03-10T19:38:10","date_gmt":"2015-03-10T23:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/?p=10763"},"modified":"2015-03-20T13:22:02","modified_gmt":"2015-03-20T17:22:02","slug":"omnifocus-2-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/2015\/03\/10\/omnifocus-2-1\/","title":{"rendered":"OmniFocus 2.1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imore.com\/omnifocus-21-mac-gets-yosemite-makeover-new-extensions\">OmniFocus<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/discourse.omnigroup.com\/t\/omnifocus-2-1-for-mac-is-now-available\/12887\">2.1<\/a> makes <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nriley\/status\/569187299197636608\">essentially no progress<\/a> on the <a href=\"http:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/2014\/04\/27\/omnifocus-2s-low-information-density\/\">data<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/2014\/05\/22\/omnifocus-2-0\/\">density<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/discourse.omnigroup.com\/t\/frustrations-with-of2\/7353\">regressions<\/a> from version 1.x. Everything still takes up a lot more space. The window can now be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.omnigroup.com\/releasenotes\/omnifocus-mac\">slightly narrower<\/a>, but the minimum sidebar width is still about twice the width of my longest context name. The <a href=\"https:\/\/discourse.omnigroup.com\/t\/requests-to-add-custom-fonts-colors-styling-in-the-outline-view\/597\/\">font<\/a> is still fixed, fuzzy, and (often) gray. Other regressions from 1.x&mdash;such as unreliable date-tabbing and not being able to drag and drop onto contexts in the main part of the window&mdash;remain in 2.1 as well.<\/p>\n<p>Update (2015-03-20): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.omnigroup.com\/blog\/omnifocus-2.1-update-now-available-for-os-x-yosemite\">Ken Case<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/www.omnigroup.com\/blog\/omnifocus-2.1-update-now-available-for-os-x-yosemite\"><p>On February 19, 2015, we shipped OmniFocus 2.1&mdash;the first of several planned OmniFocus releases in 2015. It features a new look and new features for OS X Yosemite, as well as a few bug fixes. The file format and syncing remain compatible with all previous versions of OmniFocus, on Mac and iOS.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>As I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.omnigroup.com\/blog\/a-review-of-the-omni-groups-2014-and-our-plans-for-2015\">noted in January<\/a>, we&rsquo;re still planning on adding features to OmniFocus that will make it sync more responsively, to be easier to scan visually, and to be more efficient to use.
