{"id":10448,"date":"2015-01-12T16:50:05","date_gmt":"2015-01-12T21:50:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/?p=10448"},"modified":"2015-01-17T13:37:14","modified_gmt":"2015-01-17T18:37:14","slug":"apple-introduces-app-store-refunds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/2015\/01\/12\/apple-introduces-app-store-refunds\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Introduces App Store Refunds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2014\/12\/29\/app-store-itunes-refunds-eu\/\">Jordan Kahn<\/a> (via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/rosyna\/status\/549856414496067585\">Rosyna Keller<\/a>):<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2014\/12\/29\/app-store-itunes-refunds-eu\/\">\n<p>Apple has recently introduced a new 14-day no questions asked return policy for iTunes, App Store and iBooks purchases in Europe including the UK, Germany, Italy, France, and many other EU countries.<\/p>\n<p>Apple&rsquo;s terms and conditions for the stores previously stated users had the right to withdraw from a transaction &ldquo;without charge and without giving any reason until delivery of the product has started.&rdquo; That meant purchases were all but final apart from some exceptions handled by Apple support.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Apple has updated its terms to include a specific no questions asked 14-day return window that includes all purchases apart from gift cards.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The menu item in question does not seem to be available in the US store. But it seems that EU customers now have a limited form of trials. With a normal refund, the customer will get the money back, but Apple will keep its 30%, so the developer ends up in the red.
