I knew it would get rejected eventually.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marcoarment\/status\/554120308303867905\">\n<p>I always knew the feature was living on the edge of this rule&rsquo;s interpretation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cultofmac.com\/287691\/overcast\/\">This<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/alexwlchan.net\/2014\/07\/overcast\/\">is<\/a> what the list in question looked like. I think it was genuinely useful.<\/p>\n<p>Overcast was rejected for violating <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/app-store\/review\/guidelines\/\">Rule 2.25<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/app-store\/review\/guidelines\/\"><p>Apps that display Apps other than your own for purchase or promotion in a manner similar to or confusing with the App Store will be rejected<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There is also <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/app-store\/review\/guidelines\/\">Rule 2.26<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/app-store\/review\/guidelines\/\"><p>Apps may display and recommend apps other than your own only if the collection is designed for a specific approved need (e.g. health management, aviation, accessibility, etc.) or provides significant added value for a specific group of customers, or they will be rejected<\/p><\/blockquote><p>He&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marcoarment\/status\/554460601364537346\">not<\/a> going to appeal the rejection, though:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marcoarment\/status\/554460601364537346\">\n<p>I might &ldquo;win&rdquo; on appeal, but it would always be a risk for future updates, and it&rsquo;s simply not worth delaying bugfixes any further.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Update (2015-01-18): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcelhearn.com\/apple-forces-marco-arment-to-remove-links-to-other-podcast-apps\/\">Kirk McElhearn<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote cite=\"http:\/\/www.mcelhearn.com\/apple-forces-marco-arment-to-remove-links-to-other-podcast-apps\/\"><p>This is pretty surprising. I don&rsquo;t see why Apple would not allow a developer to link to other apps; I&rsquo;m pretty sure I&rsquo;ve seen apps that try and get you to buy other apps by the same developer.
