The just-released version 5.1 is supposed to fix that. When Apple announced that Tiger would include a Mac-savvy <tt>rsync<\/tt>, I figured that I wouldn&rsquo;t be needing Synk any more. Because it takes advantage of the fact that <a href=\"http:\/\/samba.anu.edu.au\/rsync\/tech_report\/tech_report.html\">the destination machine can do stuff<\/a>, <tt>rsync<\/tt> is <em>much<\/em> faster than other such utilities I&rsquo;ve used. However, <tt>rsync -E<\/tt> has so far <a href=\"http:\/\/mjtsai.com\/blog\/2005\/05\/01\/random-tiger-notes\/\">not been reliable<\/a>. I continue to use Synk, and early indications are that it is indeed faster and uses much less RAM.
