@drance Strange that -[NSData bytes] can work using NS_RETURNS_INNER_POINTER but for actual CF objects you must outsmart the optimizer.
@drance That’s a mess. I thought this was a header bug that could easily be fixed. Is there something more subtle going on with ARC?

@danwood That issue is very common with the Retina MBPs. So much expected hassle to get mine fixed that thus far I’ve decided not to.
Maybe Time Machine will work if I tell it to back up just the most essential, fast changing, files to an SD card. Portable, offline, quiet.
Spending a lot of time managing Arq so that it can upload old files to Glacier in small batches so that there’s time to put new ones in S3.
