@fetchguy Interesting. I had tried dragging it to the Retina screen and saw no change; didn’t try clicking it there.
More evidence that Apple doesn’t test on multiple displays: AirPort Utility device photos are cropped instead of scaled on a Retina Mac.
@boredzo What jumps out at me there is that the number of songs isn’t formatted with a comma.
@samgrover That didn’t work, but thanks anyway.
10 minutes after receiving an e-mail, it still doesn’t show up in Mail(/Spotlight)’s search results or indicate that indexing isn’t done.
I’ve restarted a few times, and the Mac App Store still offers Coda 2.0.6 as an update—with a grayed out “Installed” button.
I’m glad there’s a Kindle app for Mac, but it’s frustrating that the scrolling is backwards and it doesn’t support Retina displays.
@schwa @boredzo There should be a wiki or something that collects the undocumented sandbox limitations, breakage, etc.
@schwa How does that relate to sandboxing?
@danielpunkass Yes and yes. Currently I have other priorities, but it might happen someday. Some UI challenges.
@siegel @rentzsch Nuking all the caches has consistently worked for me. A bit surprised to hear that it’s the Launch Services database.
@rentzsch Yeah, I’m seeing that bug all the time. :(
@stormchild That’s what I do, too. Would prefer just to skip the Q&A.
Is it normal to have hundreds of old .tmp files in ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Sync Changes/ ?
@stormchild Two icons in Dock, seemingly one normally running copy of app, plus one copy that’s hung. Happens most for Growl and Wedge.
@stormchild OK, I’ll try that. Thanks. Are you also getting duplicate copies of login items in the Dock, even with restoration off?
@stormchild There is no more “restore windows” setting, only “Close windows when quitting,” which I’ve unchecked.
@stormchild My 10.8 annoyance is that the Finder no longer remembers my windows between reboots.
@stormchild Yes, you would think everything would be skewed by the fact that Apple sells more new Macs these days, and they can’t go back.
@stormchild I think that’s a small factor. For my customers, only 5% of 10.6 users are 32-bit only (Core Solo and Core Duo).
@bbedit Great idea!
@stormchild No idea. I don’t use packages or Dropbox with BBEdit.
dropdmg DropDMG 3.2 adds support for creating Retina-optimized disk images, placeholder icons, segmented ZIP files, and more: http://t.co/CiMw3xmz
@soundclamp The file looks OK to me, but I’ll try that if it happens again. Thanks.
@soundclamp @splorp @drdrang 16G of RAM here, so I don’t think that was it. What do you mean by “set”?
@soundclamp @splorp @drdrang I had deleted the obvious preference files, and there’s plenty of free RAM.
@cbarrett Last time I checked, Gitbox had the best content search.
@invalidname It’s a mystery. I’ve had good luck with Brother printers recently.
@ClarkGoble Yeah. Seems like Intel’s x86 decoder is a fixed cost that will have decreasing overhead, thus eroding ARM’s advantages.
@arqbackup That said, it’s completely non-obvious to me how I can select which folders should go to Glacier, and your forum is down.
@arqbackup I’ve already upgraded. Arq is one of my top three favorite software purchases of the past few years.
@arqbackup I do want to upgrade. I just think it’s weird that existing customers don’t get to try before buying, while new ones do.
@arqbackup I purchased Arq 2. When I launched Arq 3 it immediately said that my trial had expired. That doesn’t seem right.
@kevinwalzer Good luck.
@_toddmc Nope, although I’m guessing this was a software issue. Phone hardware has been good to me except for cracks in 3GS plastic.
@_toddmc 4S. It took a few syncs before iTunes even removed the messed up audio files. Would show empty phone, but files were still there.
iPhone stopped playing audio; button would change from Play to Pause, but it wouldn't advance or play sound. Remove everything and resync.
Is there an easy way to adapt FancyZoom for Retina displays?
@mikeabdullah Apple always waits until the *next* OS release.
