Finally switched from Yahoo's site search to Google Custom Search.
@abrahamvegh Tweet Nest looks pretty good.
@abrahamvegh Looks like Downstream is $12/year now.
@abrahamvegh Will check them out. Thanks.
After a week of trying to use Tweetake, Twitter is always too busy to make a backup.
@jablair In the pop-up menu? My Snow Leopard shortcuts carried over fine.
@ccgus That was my experience as well. Pretty much no overhead, even on an SSD.
@nriley I don't even know the password for this keychain, nor does it appear in Keychain Access.
Lion: "mdwrite wants to use the 'metadata' keychain." The what keychain?
@daagaak Bug ID# 9835914
So it seems that, to AppleScript, a full screen window that's currently filling the screen does not necessarily have index 1.
@thomasborowski Agreed. Snow Leopard was supposedly more minor but had various problems for me. Lion seems solid—just a bunch of small bugs.
All things considered, this has been a very smooth OS upgrade.
@danielpunkass The other dumb thing is that you can't Control-click on the preview now to treat it as a file.
@atnan I believe Atwood lost his blog; I don't recall Stack Overflow losing their data.
@rbrockerhoff Oh, I think I misread. I thought you were having a problem even though the dead key mechanism still works. It's essential.
@FunkeeMonk Right. Could just buy it as a backup. Although maybe it needs their server to activate? Anyway, like Daniel, I trust them.
@rbrockerhoff Would be interested to hear more about why…
@FunkeeMonk I've heard reports that it's not so great on Linux, problems with Mono, etc. Best to use what they're dogfooding.
@danielpunkass Yes, I manually bcc myself on all e-mails just in case…
@FunkeeMonk Yeah, thus far I've been more lazy than paranoid. Don't want to get into running a Windows server.
@danielpunkass Yeah, it's "enough." But would mean lots of downtime and extra work. So easy to switch Web hosts in comparison.
@danielpunkass Is having the data enough, though? Do you have a place to install/run it? Too bad they no longer have two data centers.
@danielpunkass I tried to set that up with their API, which silently choked and returned a bad XML document.
@wilshipley What about FogBugz?
@retrophisch I already switched back to Graphite. :-) NetNewsWire, in particular, is too bright in Blue.
@natevw Aha. Thought maybe you were doing something with the new NSDictionary creation macro from Cocoa auto-layout.
Experimenting with switching from the Graphite appearance to Blue, since colors and shapes are already toned down in Lion.
@natevw What happened to - [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:]?
Thanks for the link. So that's why I've been getting e-mail about running Entourage 2004 under Lion…
Just realized that I've been using Git longer than Subversion. Got a ways until it catches CVS, though.
So much extra space on my backup drive due to using CrashPlan rather than Time Machine. It keeps thinking the drive was disconnected, though
5th time trying to download Xcode 4.1. Just a few minutes left this time. Fingers crossed.
@retrophisch That's usually not due to the password at all, just a network error.
@Gretyl Do you know if GrandPerspective is using a special API, or just more efficient coding?
Added Notely and WriteRoom to my iPhone/Dropbox text editor comparison: http://mjtsai.com/blog/2...
@rentzsch That could perhaps be arranged at some point, if you're interested. (But multi-account support first, please. :-)
@Gretyl I don't understand the obsession with graphically showing how much space a file/folder takes up. I want to know which, e.g. by name.
@danielpunkass Would be great if Twitter clients had hooks for stuff like that.
I get where Netflix wants to go, but I like the selection of discs, so the recent change got me to drop streaming and save a few bucks.
Not understanding the DaisyDisk love. Looks cool, but confused me. OmniDiskSweeper is so straightforward and easy.
@wilshipley I'm so sorry for your loss, Wil.
@simX For a second I was hoping I could delete all that code from my app. :-)
@simX Standard menu item, but I think persistence is up to the app. Mail: WebSmartInsertDeleteEnabled. TextEdit: SmartCopyPaste.
@simX Are you sure there's a common pref key? I thought it was up to apps to implement.
@cbowns "Paste and Match Style" seems to affect formatting but not the spacing, which is what bothers me. LB's "As Plain Text" works, though
@craigmorgan Thanks. Been using LaunchBar for many years, but I should investigate the clipboard features.
There should be a system-wide preference to disable "smart" pasting.
@LKM That would be perfect; then I'd never need to touch that menu command.
@cnix My dad can't figure out it out, either—never sure whether the diagram is flat or reflected.
