iPhone 4 is dropping my dad's calls where 2G didn't. Free case won't arrive until September (after 30-day return period). Nice camera.
Ultimate Status Bar is one of the more useful Safari 5 extensions. http://ultimatestatusbar...
@jablair Are there any xattrs on your test file?
@fraserspeirs True, although the Mini makes it easy to get at the hard drive.
@bsneed Thanks for the link. I hadn't heard of Gity before. (Been using GitX.)
@jackholt Snow, distortions, flicker, sometimes half the picture blacks out. http://bit.ly/av4j9Y http://bit.ly/d8t5gZ
Seems even less likely that Apple will fix the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter now that they no longer sell a 30-inch display.
@jsnell Good to know, thanks.
Any Mac devs updated to vBulletin 4 and liking it?
Odd that you can't order an iMac with a Magic Trackpad but no mouse. Not that I would. Might > Magic.
Apple is finally marketing SSD as faster.
@jimcorreia But that's better than pinching. :-)
I guess Apple wants us to drop support for Tiger.
@stevenf Congrats!
@danwood Good question. Voted up.
@siegel Smaller pixels is a problem if you want to use a two-display setup. The DPIs could be wildly different.
@ccwells Yes, it's weird, but I've yet to hear of a better way to rate a product that's the best but that doesn't work for certain users.
@danielpunkass Well said. Jobs is immensely talented, but he's not the solution to every problem that Apple has. Best to deploy sparingly.
@ccwells I found the statistics unconvincing. CR itself said it loved the phone but for the antenna, so not much disparity to call out.
@ccwells Part of this shift is that Apple decided to fight the media instead of responding to its customers.
Notable that, unlike AnandTech, Jobs did not mention a grip-test comparison with the 3GS.
I wouldn't be likely to call AppleCare if it already sounded like a widely known problem, c.f. Mossberg's review.
@retrophisch The tunnel-within-a-tunnel seems so long ago…
@pilky They're in the NSFileAttributes category.
@kch What problem are you trying to solve? For spam, if you've already read it on the phone you could delete it from the phone.
@kch Could be. If Mail doesn't think the messages are new, it won't apply the rules (including @spamsieve). As always: http://bit.ly/bZOKHZ
@retrophisch Oops, I was thinking of Word. In Apple Mail you need to hold Control.
@retrophisch Hold the Command key.
@luciuskwok Zeroing and restoring your SSD is not enough. And you can recondition the free space without reformatting. http://bit.ly/d3fPhO
@rentzsch Considered them but was not impressed, though I like most of the rest of FogBugz.
Odd how changing the search engine for one window in Safari changes the default in the preferences.
Looks like this USB hub is dead. Too bad it's the one built into my display.
@StephenFleming Yeah. Online ordering kept instructing to go to the store. And even then had to order and come back the next day. Odd.
@swgs Tried that many times, but the Web sites report a vague error and suggest going in to the store. Same with ordering by phone.
Can't believe how hard Apple is making it for my dad to upgrade to iPhone 4. Has to got to the store in person twice, and none are nearby.
I don't understand these vacation e-mails that are sent 4 months after the fact.
@cabel I have a bunch from 2003 that are still open.
@pilky Yeah, I've been doing the new nibs in IB 3, and it's much more pleasant to use. Time to convert everything else over.
@pilky As I recall, IB 3 was buggy for several of those years, so I was in no hurry to upgrade. I prefer stable tools to the shiny.
@cortig It was working fine for me until recently. Time to write some shell scripts...
@pilky 1. The version of RBSplitView that I'm using. 2. Work to update lots of localized nibs and re-key the the .strings files.
Looks like Interface Builder 2.5's menu bar editor is broken in Xcode 3.2.3 and/or Mac OS X 10.6.4.
@retrophisch Ha ha. Good movie.
@peternlewis VACUUM?
The iPhone is a lot more impressive than the mini microwave pizza.
@danielpunkass Congrats!
Entourage should not allow you to add the Junk category to address book contacts and then auto-assign it to messages from those contacts.
@dnanian Would a clear coating on it be such a compromise?
@siracusa Basically they're redefining the problem as AT&T's fault.
Well, maybe that explains why my 3GS so often shows 4-5 bars and yet I can't make calls.
