Does louder volume in 1.1.1 mean that the increments will be even larger than before?

via Twitterrific

I seem to be getting more tech support questions from people who are relatively new to the Mac.

@leebennett I know it sounds crazy, but it works. The onion (or garlic) likes the metal more than your skin.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@leebennett No, not something abrasive. Just rub a stainless steel spoon or chef's knife (or even a sink) under cold running water.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@leebennett Rub with stainless steel and cold water.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@leebennett That's my guess. Do you know how to test it?

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

I guess the iMac isn't OK after all; the clock seems to always be wrong now.

via Twitterrific

GrowlHelperApp is using 160 MB of RAM. Was going to file a bug, but the site seems to be down.

via Twitterrific

@leebennett Sounds likes bug in ME since the default shortcut for BR is Command-Enter.

via PocketTweets in reply to leebennett

@leebennett Some of the code loads into every app. I see it in lots of crash reports.

via PocketTweets in reply to leebennett

@leebennett Saft is basically a haxie, you know.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@leebennett Doesn't MarsEdit 2 have its own keyboard shortcut editor for the markup commands?

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@leebennett I used to use WindowShade, but I stopped with OS X and actually don't miss it.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@leebennett You can open pref panes with LaunchBar and edit most keyboard shortcuts with System Preferences.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@retrophisch Yeah, after I saw that keyboard I was wondering if I should change the default capture key. F1 is so nice, though...

via Twitterrific in reply to retrophisch

I guess this explains why I blew through 4 phone surge protectors this summer.

via Twitterrific

The phone was down because there were phone wires nearby in the ground.

via Twitterrific

Phone/DSL and power are restored. The transformer was broken and arcing into the ground.

via Twitterrific

@retrophisch Want to review the keyboard? :-)

via web in reply to retrophisch

@leebennett I'm not sure. There'a been lots of rain but no lightning. The neighbours are down, too.

via PocketTweets in reply to leebennett

Phone and power are down.

via PocketTweets

@retrophisch Right. Several have required warranty service during year 1. After year 3, AppleCare wouldn't have helped, anyway.

via Twitterrific in reply to retrophisch

@leebennett I haven't gotten hooked on Twitter yet because the service seems to be so unreliable.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@leebennett Still haven't quite figured out this Twitterrific thing.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@mjtsai So I guess my streak of never having a Mac die during years 2 or 3 continues.

via Twitterrific

@leebennett I put my RAM back in, plugged in back into the original UPS, and plugged in the drives, and now it seems to be back to normal.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

Several hours later, the iMac spontaneously started up, while I was on the other side of the room.

via Twitterrific

@leebennett GarageSale is pretty nice. I liked it better than iSale.

via Twitterrific in reply to leebennett

@retrophisch Nope. This morning it was sleeping and wouldn't wake up or power off. I unplugged it, and now it won't turn on.

via Twitterrific in reply to retrophisch

The iMac appears to be dead.

via Twitterrific

TidBITS redesign looks nice, but feels ad-heavy. Seems more like a group blog than a weekly newsletter.

via Twitterrific

@retrophisch Belated congrats on getting out of the cast!

via Twitterrific in reply to retrophisch

Wondering if I should try MarsEdit when I get back to blogging. Last time I looked, none of the clients stuck, but that was years ago.

via Twitterrific

@leebennett Me neither. It kind of made the interface look like Jaguar.

via PocketTweets in reply to leebennett

Keyboard is a bit stiffer than the MacBook one, though.

via PocketTweets

iMac at Best Buy set to 256 colors and had misconfigured AirPort.

Starting my vacation.
