		<description>Because (a) as long as effort is split between several projects, none of them will progress as quickly as they could, and (b) the current chaos makes people who aren't already committed to Python willing to give it a try.  Trust me --- I've been trying to get people to adopt Python for several years, and anything that makes the community look confused and divided encourages potential users to look elsewhere.</description>
