WebKit Open Source

Dave Hyatt reports that WebKit is now open-source, with CVS access. It looks to be a BSD-style license.

It was always open source, the difference is that now it's "bazaar-style" open source, with development proceeding in public, and a well-defined procedure for the team to integrate patches from outsiders.

It seems to be at least partially LGPL (the non-"viral" version of the GPL).

Voodoo: It sounds like you're talking about WebCore. It was available before and has the LGPL-style license. But I didn't think WebKit source was available, and I see nothing GPL-like in its license file in CVS.
