Firefly was a show with real promise. Better than any other sci-fi show on tv today. Even with the way the show was piloted, and under marketed, it still did well, and presented it's viewers with that "you'll never know what's going to happen this week" if you don't watch. Besides the recipe for modern day sci-fi tv shows is pretty simple. You need Space, Hot Chics, ok dialogue, and good old fashion action scenes. I went to imdb.com, found the reviews intriguing and purchased the boxed set. The stories, characters, dialog -- It was so well done I can not believe that it is over. I watch the SCIFI channel a lot, and I never saw a single show when broadcasted. This show was never adequately promoted. If enough people buy the boxed set, or make enough chatter on the net maybe it will come back. Some friends were talking about a cancelled show
