Parents of Richard Guy Sue MIT

From The Tech:

According to the complaint, “MIT knew or should have known…that drug use was ongoing” at East Campus, but instead MIT “allowed drug use…to continue unabated.”

The complaint cites “the appearance of the 5th floor, where the walls and ceilings of part of the 5th floor were painted black and light bulbs painted pink and purple” as evidence of drug use on Fifth East.

Perhaps if MIT hadn’t set a precedent by paying damages for Scott Krueger’s death they could avoid silly suits like this and spend more time dumbing down Freshman Physics.

You are quoting selectively from the suit. There was rampant drug use in that dorm that was ignored by people responsible for the well being and safety of those students.

MIT students: Brilliant ? Or just Ignorant?
How very narrow-minded and ignorant! To describe the Guy Family/MIT Lawsuit as......... "silly" ..."Silly?"
I must have misunderstood which topic you were commenting on.....

I have to agree that "how to avoid silly lawsuits like this(The Guy Family)one " statement is a childish and inappropriate description. And, any family in similar circumstances as The Guy Family couldn't possibly be satisfied with any verdict, or any amount of monetary compensation, that could compare to their loss,...Imagine having your most painfull, and private family concerns, broadcast for the world, for strangers to debate and speculate on . Public opinions are.... simply that, just opinions, ... Public opinion is a focus for, entertainment or politics, Unless we are fully informed about all the details, we could, as a courtesy, just "allow" The Guy's to decide what is best for their own family, and let our legal system decide the rest.

The Guy's have no need for the money. MIT was negligent and yet has refused to alter the way they do business.
