Parents of Richard Guy Sue MIT
From The Tech:
According to the complaint, “MIT knew or should have known…that drug use was ongoing” at East Campus, but instead MIT “allowed drug use…to continue unabated.”
The complaint cites “the appearance of the 5th floor, where the walls and ceilings of part of the 5th floor were painted black and light bulbs painted pink and purple” as evidence of drug use on Fifth East.
Perhaps if MIT hadn’t set a precedent by paying damages for Scott Krueger’s death they could avoid silly suits like this and spend more time dumbing down Freshman Physics.
You Are a Suspect
From the New York Times:
If the Homeland Security Act is not amended before passage, here is what will happen to you: Every purchase you make with a credit card, every magazine subscription you buy and medical prescription you fill, every Web site you visit and e-mail you send or receive, every academic grade you receive, every bank deposit you make, every trip you book and every event you attend—all these transactions and communications will go into what the Defense Department describes as “a virtual, centralized grand database.”
